Welcome to the web site of “Old Arkwright."

On this site you will find some stories of my first five years working on a preserved railway.

Hopefully you will find something to interest you here and it may encourage you to perhaps visit the railway and spend some money, and who knows, you may even decide to become a working member.

You may even recognise yourself in one of the stories or musings, if you do then you can relax in the knowledge that your visit to the station will have left it’s mark.

However, please note that some marks run much deeper than others.

So if you have any comments on the stories, or site itself then please don’t hesitate to drop me an email by clicking HERE.

      Arkwright's Blog.

For a number of reasons I have decided to close the blog, I will be writing occassional articles
which will appear here from time to time. Railway musings will now also appear on the offical
Nene Valley Railway Blog at www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk
